Find out what you are capable of and join us on an adventure of a lifetime! Climb the World’s Highest Waterfall Cable Climb – With 4 climbs and and Canyon, whether you are a total beginner or seasoned adventurer, we have choices for all adventurers and will be by your side every step of the way.
Choose your Adventure:
Lord of the Rungs Level 1 – This is our easiest climb option. In just a few hours, you will learn all you need to know to safely ascend steel rungs and cross 4 suspension bridges as you make your way up the lower section of the waterfall. This tour includes a safety briefing followed by approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour of climbing and a 20-minute walk down. No previous experience is required, just an adventurous spirit. If you can climb a ladder, you can conquer Level 1!
Lord of the Rungs Level 2 – This is our goldilocks climb and most popular. This epic climb just keeps getting better. The route follows on from Level 1. With great views, and some steeper sections, you are guaranteed a climb you will remember. It offers breathtaking photo opportunities as you go higher, and to make the adventure even more thrilling, you get 2 extra hours to climb, see the views and reach those amazing heights!
New in 2026/27 The Wild Thing Level 2+ – A step-up from our Level 2 climb, Wild Thing is the newest way to experience Wildwire and to climb both waterfalls that Twin Falls has to offer! Begin by climbing our Level 1 experience on Left-Hand Falls before hiking the trail across to Right-Hand Falls and commencing the next stage of your adventure. Sheer cliff climbing, unbelievable exposure, a suspended sky ladder and spectacular views of the valley – this challenge will quite literally keep you on your toes.
Lord of the Rungs Level 3 – This is our ultimate challenge and includes a Helicopter ride down! It is an absolutely amazing experience! Along the way, you will cross a 2-wire bridge, go behind a 60m waterfall, and climb through an airy overhang. This is our most extreme climb, suitable for fit adventure seekers with a great head for heights! You will climb the entire waterfall to the very top and finish with the James Bond factor and grab a helicopter ride down!
Twin Falls Climb & Canyon: Open from December – March Experience the waterfall from all angles! Start by climbing up our Level 1 cable climb, then get your wetsuits on and rappel back down! You will be supported by an experienced guide the entire time and you will learn climbing and abseil skills on this trip.
Whichever adventure you choose, your guide is right there by your side as you challenge yourself and your comfort zone. Wildwire Wānaka proudly stand by their clean record – with guides, training, gear and policies that keep it that way.
The tours take place on a private working deer farm, nestled in the mountains, twenty minutes drive from Wānaka. The air is clean and the views just keep getting better and better the higher you go.
