Rippon is set against a backdrop of Lake Wānaka and the Southern Alps, on the land which has been in the Mills family since 1912. The primary interest of all who work at Rippon is to grow wines which are an accurate reflection of the farm. All Rippon wines are produced from the single vineyard on the shores of Lake Wānaka.
You are invited to the Mills family farm to share in their history, community, story and wines, for a tasting and some conversation.
Tastings are small and personal with only six guests and last around 30 minutes. They include a sample of 4-6 of current vintage wines and are free of charge. Larger group and private tastings can be arranged and accommodated on request. They also offer the option to take a personalised farm tour.
Energy is focused on Rippon; the place, and the wines it produces. They endeavor to keep this focus true and undiluted so there is no restaurant, bar or food through the Cellar Door.
Other than licensed caterers for specific events, outside food is not allowed anywhere on the farm.

Thoughtfully designed to honour its surroundings, The Rippon Hall is the result of over thirty years of dreaming, planning, and building. Every detail of the Hall reflects a deep connection to the land: its walls are crafted from compacted earth taken directly from the Rippon hillside, the timber beams and trusses are sourced from our own larch forest, and the building is warmed by a boiler fuelled with wood from the farm.
Whether you’re planning a wedding, private celebration, corporate retreat, or creative workshop, The Rippon Hall provides an unforgettable backdrop that blends natural beauty with authentic architectural craftsmanship.
Please note: Rippon is a dry hire venue. Catering, glassware, crockery, linens, tables, chairs, and similar items are not included and will need to be arranged separately through one of our trusted local suppliers.
