A little bike know-how can go a long way.

Bike Basics 101 is a free, friendly evening from Wastebusters, designed to help people understand their bikes, build practical repair skills and feel more confident getting out and riding.

Ted from Racers Edge will lead a Bike 101 session covering essential fixes, simple maintenance to help prevent problems, and what to carry on every ride.

After a break for a beer and snacks, the evening will open up for questions and detailed demos with Ted, Joel and Kerry from Bike Glendhu, and Simon from Wastebusters. It’s a chance to get up close, ask questions and learn practical skills from people who know bikes.

Whether someone is fairly new to biking or has been riding for years but usually leaves repairs and maintenance to someone else, everyone is welcome.

The aim is simple: give people the skills and confidence to have a go at repairs themselves and help get more of the community out enjoying their bikes.
