An easy nature walk in native forest or a longer hike with stunning views of Lake Hāwea

Both walks start from the Kidds Bush Recreation Reserve, 6km along the Hunter Valley Road turn off SH 6 at The Neck. The nature walk is an easy loop track through mountain beech forest. The Sawyer Burn Track climbs through the forest to the bushline and has superb views of Lake Hāwea and the surrounding mountains.

Sawyer Burn Track

An easy nature walk in native forest or a longer hike with stunning views of Lake Hāwea.

Providing superb views of Lake Hāwea and the surrounding mountains, the Sawyer Burn Track veers off the Kidds Bush Nature Walk and initially zigzags up through forest to the bushline before sidling (mostly at the same level) across to the Sawyer Burn Hut.
