Ask owners Nicola and Cory Peterson to describe their newest adventure, Little Street Kitchen, and they’ll say something along the lines of, “It’s a bigger, better version of our much-loved food truck (Now Bao), but with full service, an epic location and some surprising dishes.”
It’s been a long-time dream for the couple to open their own restaurant in Wānaka. That dream came to fruition this year thanks to plenty of hard work and the backing of some legendary friends, locals and people who simply love good food.
Little Street Kitchen has quickly become a locals favourite and is now a must-stop for hungry folk passing through too. You’ll find the dishes they built their reputation on, alongside some unexpected food combinations that just… work.
They still serve the best fried chicken in Wānaka. The cocktails are the perfect complement to the food, and everything is designed to be shared. So gather your friends, come hungry and tuck in.
As one five-star review puts it, the food is “so bloody good!” But the question is… how does Cory make it taste so damn delicious? That’s a secret they won’t share.
